The Canaplus beneficiaries annually select the
Suppliers of the Year. Starting in 2004, Canaplus recognized two Suppliers
of the Year, by adding a second award in the high volume category.
Both of these categories are identical in all respects, except for
one; the size of the Suppliers in terms of Canaplus purchasing volume.
The following criteria are used for the selection:

Practical pricing & terms. |
To be a candidate, a supplier must be selling
to at least 10 beneficiaries and have been an approved supplier for
more than one year. Each of the beneficiaries' branches are entitled
to vote. Voting will usually take place in the months of June and
July of every year.
The Most Improved Supplier category is based on the above mentioned
criteria. The supplier getting the most improved score from one year
to another will earn the award. The following criteria will be used
to determine the eligible suppliers:

They must have
been approved Canaplus Suppliers for a minimum of two years. |

They must be
providing goods and services to at least 15 beneficiaries. |

Scores from
each year will only be considered for Suppliers where a minimum
of 15 votes have been cast by beneficiaries. |

Their sales
volume to the beneficiaries must not be less than that of the
previous year. |
The names of the recipients of the Supplier of the Year Awards are
announced during the Annual Suppliers Conference in September at Toronto.
