Overview
The Canaplus Limited Partnership is a buying
group organized to provide support to Canadian distributors of plumbing,
heating and related products. Those distributors are identified
hereafter as beneficiaries or members.
The administration office is based in Toronto, Ontario. The Limited
Partnership structure was established in 1995. It previously operated
as Canaplus Inc., following a merger in 1988 of two buying groups,
namely P & H Wholesalers Limited and Mapco Inc.
Since 1995, the purchases of the group have
grown significantly, helping its beneficiaries improve their
competitiveness, as well as improving the market share of its suppliers.
With this continued growth, Canaplus purchasing programs have consistently
improved, providing even greater advantages to its beneficiaries.
Canaplus values the relationships that have been developed with
its many suppliers. Also, its beneficiaries recognize the importance
of a true partnership between suppliers and distribution, in working
together to grow market share. The group is now working in close
relationship with more than 110 approved vendors. As a buying group,
Canaplus' purchases are above all plumbing, heating and waterworks
products.
Canaplus is made up of 32 beneficiaries across Canada. Those beneficiaries are collectively
operating over 200 sales points coast to coast.
As Canaplus continues to grow and develop new segments, its main
goal will always remain the same: to meet the needs of its beneficiaries
by giving them the opportunity to choose from a number of suppliers.
This allows them to sell the products their customers want, and
to be competitive in their respective market.
